Redesign Proposal

After preliminary design research we than began to move through several different iterations of the wash station, bringing each one back to the students at the garden for feedback on the most recent changes to the design. Our first proposed design looked mainly at the actual processes completed by the wash station. We broke the use of the wash station down into subsystems and chronological steps to make incorporating improvements more manageable:
As can be seen above, we focused on improving the functionality of the different components of the wash station so that it would operate as a single system. The main improvements include freeing up space by storing bins on a ceiling rack, using the entire entering side for washing and the exiting side for final cleaning and packaging (ergonomics in mind), and including removable compost bins around the outside.
We received very useful feedback from the students on our first design.
