Alien Adaptation
Nov 17th, 2015 by Ron Eglash
Project Description:
A team of four RPI students made multiple visits to Troy’s Public School two in order to determine an effective method of incorporating new teaching methods and interdisciplinary principals into the curriculum. The objective of the team was to design an affordable device to engage students in learning about the fundamentals of evolution and adaption. Through the usage of familiar prototyping tools and simple LED circuits, students were able to design and visualize a creature going through different stages of adaptation. Throughout this process students were also able to expand their vocabulary and document their work thus providing more practice in the standards for English Language Arts (ELA).
